Robert F. Wallace
Dr. R. F. Wallace is a son of John and Rose
(Lamar) Wallace, both natives of
Anderson County
,
Tenn.
, where they are now living, the father engaged in agricultural pursuits. In
their family were nine children - six sons and three daughters. Two of the sons
are physicians. Our subject was born in the same county as his parents,
February 12, 1859
, and was the sixth child. He attended college in
Jefferson
County
, where he received a good education. Having read medicine with Dr. J. P.
Wallace, he took a course at the medical department of the
University
of
Tennessee
where he graduated in 1886, receiving the first prize, faculty medal,
for general proficiency.
