Cemetery
Fryar Cemetery is located in the Lookout Valley area of Chattanooga, TN. The area is also known as Tiftonia and earlier as Wauhatchie. The cemetery is located on private property now owned by Reflection Riding. To get to the cemetery from downtown Chattanooga, take I-24 West toward Nashville. Take the Lookout Valley-Browns Ferry Road exit and turn left. Turn left on Parker Lane which is next to McDonald’s. Parker Ln curves to the left where you will soon see a gate blocking the road. This is the entrance to Fryar Cemetery. The cemetery is fenced and very well maintained. There are many graves marked only with stones. At the bottom of this survey is a listing of names that were present on the 1939 WPA survey. These markers were not found during our survey.
In order to preserve family relationships, this survey was listed in rows rather
than alphabetically. Use your browser’s “find” feature to locate surnames.
The letters “DM” were used to note a double marker. The name with this note
and the name following was usually the spouse.
