Lewis Cemetery

This survey was completed by the WPA in 1939. Driving directions and more recent survey was provided by Delta Genealogical Society. From Highway 153, take Highway 58 North 16.7 miles to Smith Road. Turn right, go 1.1 miles to end of Smith Road to Ooltewah/Georgetown Road. Turn on Holt Road, which is directly across Ooltewah/Georgetown Road, and go 0.3 miles. The cemetery is on the left side in a field and fenced. The small fenced area is very overgrown. As of October, 2003 only two readable markers and one field stone remain. There are reportedly 25 unmarked graves.

Names of individuals in this cemetery were recorded as they appeared on the tombstones. No attempt was made to correct obvious errors or differences in spelling. Every attempt has been made to record this information correctly. However, mistakes are possible.  The information on this page may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by any other person or organization without the written consent of the contributor, or the legal representative of the submitter.
