Cemetery
Red
Bank Cemetery is located in Red Bank, TN. From downtown Chattanooga, take
Highway 27 North and take the Morrison Springs Road exit. Turn right. Go one
block and turn left on Oakland Terrace. Take an immediate horseshoe turn to the
left. The entrance to the cemetery is located between two houses on the right
and looks like the driveway for one of the houses. This is an old cemetery and
the last burial was in 1997. There are many unmarked graves and some marked only
with stones.
This
cemetery was surveyed by the WPA prior to 1939. There are now several markers
from that survey that are either missing or unreadable. At the end of this
survey is a list of markers from the WPA survey that are no longer in Red Bank
Cemetery. These names are noted by (WPA). Several corrections have also been
made to the WPA Survey.
To
preserve family relationships, this survey was done by rows instead of
alphabetical. Use your browsers "find" feature to locate surnames. As
you enter the cemetery, there are distinctive left and right sections. Rows are
numbered L1 - L10, left side and R1 - R10, right side. The use of (DM) indicates
a double marker. The name following (DM) was in most cases a spouse.
