Summit
Cemetery
![]()
Summit Cemetery is located in Hamilton County, Tennessee right on the side of I-75, southbound side, 2 miles south of the Ooltewah exit #11. This perhaps isn’t legal as far as driving is concerned, but if you pull off to the side of I-75 at that point, you’ll see a dirt road. A fence keeps you from driving through. The cemetery is just ahead on both sides of the dirt road. Has 2 white gates and has an old fence surrounding both sides. It is very overgrown and very few markers can be seen. Listed on the 1939 WPA Surveys as a Black Cemetery with over 200 unmarked graves. Surveyed July 2001
