Located on Armstrong Rd., Soddy-Daisy, Hamilton Co. TN. The cemetery is named for the family who donated the property for its use. The land for this cemetery was once owned by W. R. Clift and has also been know as Clift and Shady Grove Cemetery. There are clearly approximately 170 markers recorded in this survey. And, there are evident graves without markers as well.

 

The Tennessee Valley Authority conducted a survey of this cemetery in the early 1940s prior to the building of the Chickamauga Reservoir. Several markers from the TVA survey are now missing and are noted in this survey.

 

Directions- From Chattanooga take U.S. Hwy. 27 N (Corridor J)  to Soddy-Daisy. Take the Soddy-Daisy/Hixson Pike exit. (set odometer). Turn right at end of ramp onto Tsati View proceeding .07 mi. and bearing left onto Hixson Pike. Continue 2 mi. then turn left crossing the bridge on Armstrong Road.  Proceed .02 mi. - turn right at end of bridge into cemetery access road. (This road used by Bowater also). Cemetery is to the immediate right.  Both Bowater and Wilcoxen Cemetery signs are present on the right side of Armstrong Road at the entrance road.

 

Names of individuals in this cemetery were recorded as they appeared on the tombstones. No attempt was made to correct obvious errors or differences in spelling.
