Harry R. Hays, Jr.
Harry R. Hays Jr., 72, of
Chattanooga, died Sunday evening, Dec. 16, 2001, in a local hospital.
He was a native of Chattanooga, the son of the late Harry R. Sr. and Cleo Martin Hays. He was a veteran of both WWII and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Hays was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jean Wilson Hays, one daughter, Julie Hays Thomas of Renton, Wash.; and one son, Robert Hays of Fort Oglethorpe, GA.; one granddaughter, Nicole Annette Evans of Renton, one brother, Dr. James Hays of Knoxville, Tenn., several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11:30 at Brainerd Baptist Church with Dr. Darryl L. Craft and Rev. Curtis Hill officiating.
Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Active pallbearers: Jeff Wilson, Glen Fleming, Ken Newton, Elder Glenn, Bob Wilson, Paul McBee and Rick Marler.
