David S. Mitchell

Mitchell-David S., well-known restraint man, died Friday morning at 6:15 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bessie Lewallen.  Mr. Mitchell had resided in Chattanooga for the past forty years and was affectionately know as “Dad” by many of his friends.  Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Lewallen and Mrs. Mamie Grace Hartline; three grandchildren, David and James Lewallen, and Mary Katherine Hartline, all of this city.  He had been a member of the Modern Woodmen of America for over twenty years.  Funeral services will be held from Coulter’s chapel at 2 o’clock this afternoon, with the Rev. Herbert Morgan officiating. Interment in the Ooltewah cemetery. Coulter’s in charge.
