SLATER - JAMES LEE, 57, of 3501 Martin Road, Red Bank, died Thursday in a local hospital. A DeKalb County, Ala., native , he lived in Chattanooga the past 33 years. A U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was a security guard with the Department of Human Services. He was a son of the late Joseph J. Slater. Survivors include his mother, Beulah Hayes Slater; brother, Randell J. Slater, both of Red Bank; two nieces, Kittie Slater Stafford, Hixson, and Kristie L. Slater, Red Bank; one great-niece. Services will be held at 2 p.m. CDT Sunday at New Harmony Baptist Church, Geraldine, Ala. Burial will be in New Harmony Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. CDT today at Harris Funeral Home, Geraldine. Local arrangements by the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
