Jess Adams, 76, of Bakewell, Tenn. died at the residence late Thursday evening. He was a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of north Hamilton County. He was a member of Providence Methodist Church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Cora Adams: four daughters, Mrs. Jean Benton, Chattanooga; Mrs. Cecil Robinson, Daisy, Tenn; Mrs. Ann Smith, San Francisco; and Mrs. Catherine Ball, Rossville, Ga. Seven sons, Addison Adams, Rockwood; Fleatius Adams, Bakewell; Ray, Sale Creek; J.T., Bakewell; Jack, San Francisco; Jesse Jr., Hammond, Ind.; Eldon, Sale Creek; Two brothers Charlie, Sale Creek and Grover, Gainsville, Ga. 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral will be at 2 PM Sunday in the chapel of the funeral home the Rev. Everett Kelly officiating. Interment in New Providence Cemetary.
