Charles Alfred Brown

BROWN—Funeral services for Charles A. Brown will be held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at the Coulter chapel., with Dr. W. S. Thorington officiating. Mr. Brown was a member of the Signal Mountain police and fire department for the past 25 years and at the time of his death was chief of both departments. He was the son of the late Capt George brown of the Chattanooga fire department. A member of the Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, he served with the shore patrol in the first world war and was a member of the Summers-Whitehead Post 14. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Brown; one son, Charles A. Brown Jr., in the U. S. Navy; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Hays of Chattanooga. The body is at the funeral home and will remain there through the hour of service. Arrangements are by the R. J. Coulter Funeral Home.
