GEORGE COOPER DEAD AT AGE 66

Rites today for former employee of Railway Express Agency.

 

    George D. Cooper, 66, retired employee of the Railway Express Agency died Tuesday morning, in a Chattanooga hospital.  He worked for the agency for 32 years before his retirement in 1957.

    Mr. Cooper attended the Methodist church.

    Among his survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Douglas Brooks of Chattanooga; three sons, Thomas F.. Cooper, Chattanooga; Richard T. Cooper of Memphis; and Col. Dewey Cooper, Japan; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas W. Koons and Mrs. Fred W. Brown; a brother John T. Cooper, Chattanooga; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be a 3:30 p.m. today in the west chapel of the Chattanooga Funeral Home with Minister Cecil Williams officiating.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

    Judge Robert Cooper, the Rev. Clifford Davis, Delmont Cooper, J. C. Cooper, Don Cooper and David Cooper well be pallbearers.
