The Rev. Clifford Virgil Davis died Wednesday, April 25, 1999, at his home in East Ridge.  He was 79.

    Mr. Davis was a former employee of Unnita Glass Co. and W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home.

    He had pastored several churches in the area and at the time of his death was a pastor of Davis Jones Memorial Baptist Church in Rossville.

    He was a member of the Half Century Club, past president of the East Lake Lions Club, and a member of Tunnel Hill Masonic Lodge 202 F&AM, York Rite Lookout Commandry 0014 and the Alhambra Shrine Temple of Chattanooga.

    Survivors include his wife, Virginia Cooper Davis; two daughters, Linda Layman and Janice Miller; two sons, Larry and Jerry Davis; a sister, Dorothy Lea; two brothers, Leo and Jack Davis of Rossville.

    The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home with Revs. C. Henry Preston, Bill Hixson and Lee Chadwick officiating. 

    Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
