George W. Davis
1890
Death
of George Davis.
The sixth victim of the
Birmingham
collision and wreck that occurred three miles out from that city, five weeks
ago yesterday, Geo. W. Davis, was buried at
Forest Hills
Cemetery
yesterday morning. In that wreck his leg was terribly mangled and it was
amputated. Several days ago it was decided by the physicians that another
amputation was necessary, as the limb had not been taken off far enough up. He
was not strong enough to stand the shock and his death resulted. He was raised
in
Chattanooga
, and his father, who lives at Shellmound, brought him here for burial. Rev. T.
C. Warner preached the funeral sermon.
