Louise Virginia Womack Davis, 77, formerly of Hixson, and a resident of Old
Zion Road in Columbia, TN, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at Maury Regional
Hospital.
The Chattanooga native was the daughter of the late John P. and Sarah E.
Pritchard Womack. She was the widow of Samuel John Davis who died in 1980.
She was a former clerk and cook in the Hamilton County area, was an avid
reader and loved crocheting. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Gary) Holman of Columbia; three sons,
John Walter "Johnny" (MiHye) Davis of Hixson, Gerald Wayne "Jerry" (Barbara)
Davis of Chatsworth, GA, and Clyde Terrell "Terry" Davis of Chattanooga; two
sisters, Ethel Parker of Hixson, and Judy (Lonnie) Sunderland of Daisy, TN;
three brothers, Marvin Womack of Florida, W.R. (Doris) Womack of Hixson and
Allen (Lorraine) Womack of Soddy-Daisy; 12 grandchildren, Casey (Becky)
Robinson, Shannon Holman, Eric (Erica) Holman, and Faith Adkins, all of
Columbia, TN, Leslie Carroll of LaVergne, TN, Jenny (Don) Carr of Zion, IL,
Joy (James) Steele of Canton, GA, Jeremy Davis of Richmond, VA, Cherish
(Craig) Pierce of Chatsworth, GA, Shay Davis, Josh (Secret) Davis and Courtney
(Daniel) Williams, all of Chattanooga; 15 great-grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two children, Billy Ray Davis and Donald Eugene
"Gene" Davis; and several sisters and brothers.
Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be conducted Thursday, at 6 p.m. at
Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with the Rev. Dave Baker officiating.
The family will visit with friends Thursday from noon until service time at
Williams Funeral Home, Columbia.
A funeral service also will be conducted Monday, at 1 p.m. EDT at Williamson &
Sons Funeral Home in Soddy-Daisy. Burial will be in Hamilton County Memorial
Park in Chattanooga.
Pallbearers will be Shay Davis, Josh Davis, Eric Holman, Casey Robinson,
Jeremy Davis and Don Carr. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons,
Samuel Jackson Corbin, Cole Thomas Atkins, Thomas Ryan Carroll, Grayson Taylor
Pierce, Damon Cade Davis, James Austin Steele and Brady Davis Pierce.
The family will visit with friends after noon Saturday and Sunday at
Williamson Funeral Home, Soddy-Daisy.
