    Virginia Cooper Davis, 79, of East Ridge died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002 in a local hospital.
    She was a past president of the Pilot Club of Chattanooga, American Association of Medical Assistants, Chattanooga Business and Professional Women, Kosmos Woman's Club and East Lake Lioness Club.  She was past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and member of the East Lake chapter. She was a Red Cross volunteer at Erlanger for 48 years and chairwoman of Hamilton County volunteers in 1986, and was inducted in the Red Cross Hall of Fame.  She was a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Clifford V. Davis; and brother W. O and Paul Cooper.
    She is survived by sons, Larry C. and Jerry C. Davis; daughters Linda Layman and Janice Miller; brother, Don R. Cooper.
    The funeral service will be a 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Ronnie Mitchell officiating.
    The interment will follow the service in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
    The family request that memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross.
