Funeral services for Mrs. Nannie F. (Florence) Dickson, 88,
wife of the late John D. (DeWitt) Dickson (Sr.), who died at the home of her
daughter,
Mrs. R. D. (Drew) Massee in Tiger, GA, will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the
R. J. Coulter Funeral Home, the Rev R. H. Duncan officiating. Burial will be
in Forest Hills Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom L. Davis, Percy B. Shepherd,
Tom Fred Kennedy, Karl Carmin, Charles W. Tomlinson and Jason D. Thatcher.
Honorary pallbearers will be an honor guard of the Nancy Ward chapter, DAR.
Mrs. Dickson lived in Chattanooga from the late 1890's until 1924, when
she moved to Miami, FL, following the death of her husband, at that time
departmental chief clerk in the office of the auditor of express receipts,
American Railway Express Company.
Mrs. Dickson was a charter member of the Nancy Ward chapter, DAR,
and was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a member
of Highland Park Methodist Church.
Survivors are Mrs. R. D. (Drew) Massee (Mary Elizabeth Dickson Massee);
three sons, John D. (DeWitt) Dickson (Jr.), Miami; Robert F. (Fairchild)
Dickson, Roanoke, VA; and Charles R. (Russell) Dickson (Sr.), St. Paul, VA;
nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
