ENGLAND -- CHARLES M., 83, of 107 Alford St., Athens, TN,
died Monday afternoon (June 5, 1978) in an Athens hospital. He was a
resident of the Chattanooga area for 45 years before moving to Athens over a
year ago. Mr. England was a member of the Rossville First Baptist Church
and had retired from the Chattanooga Housing Authority. He was a member of
the Rossville Masonic Lodge No. 397 F&AM, Rossville Chapter No. 149, R. A.
M. and was a veteran of World War I serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors are wife, Mrs. Bessie Green England; a daughter, Miss Mary Sue
England, Athens; a brother, Will England, Chattanooga, several nieces and
nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 PM in the South
Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral , with the Rev. Claude Mason officiating.
Internment in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Active and honorary pallbearers
will be members of the Rossville Masonic Lodge No. 397 F&AM, who will have
charge of services at the grave. The body is at the South Crest Chapel of
Lane Funeral Home, Inc.
