England, Vesta Elkins, 91, of Chattanooga died Sunday (Aug.
20, 1995) in a local hospital. She was a charter member of St. Andrews
United Methodist Church and a member of the Russell Tate Sunday School Class.
A retired Hamilton County schoolteacher, she was active in the Tennessee Retired
Teachers Association, past president of Middle Tennessee State University Alumni
Association and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. She
was the widow of William Lee England. Survivors include three nieces,
Ethel Moore, Dora Wells, both of Pulaski, TN; Willodyne Chambers, Decatur, AL;
three nephews, Ferrell and Marvin Elkins, both of Chattanooga; Mike Elkins,
Franklin, TN; several great nieces and great nephews. Services will be at
10 am Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Knight officiating.
Burial will be in National Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 pm today at
Chattanooga Funeral Home, West.
