Allen Fryar, 73, member of a pioneer Hamilton County family, died yesterday at
his home on Signal Mountain boulevard, Glendale. Born in Lookout valley, Mr.
Fryar spent his entire life in this section.
For a number of years he was connected with the state, beginning this
service in 1919 and severing the connection in 1933. Following this he engaged
in the grocery business at Glendale. He was a member of the Eagles lodge.
Mr. Fryar is survived by his wife; seven brothers, Jerry, William, Sevier,
Frank, Robert, Richard and Joseph, and two sisters, Mrs. David Jackson and Mrs.
Rebecca Hartman, of this city.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at
O'Donohue's, 518 Lookout street, with Rev. H. M. Linkous officiating. Interment
will follow in Fryar cemetery.
Pallbearers will be A. G. Brown, C. E. Cross, Lee Cox, Albert Crump, A.
C. Sanders and John Vogt.
