HACKNEY, ARTHUR, 50, of Soddy, Tenn., died Thursday in a
local hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Hackney, Soddy; six
children, Misses Charlotte, Phyllis, and Faynette Hackney, all of Soddy; Mrs.
Jim McInturf, Hixson, Tenn.; Thomas Eugene and Jimmy Lewis Hackney, both of
Soddy; seven sisters, Mrs. Maggie Bailey, Miss Cleatus Hackney, Mrs. Ralph
Wright, and Mrs. Hubert Porter, all of Soddy; Mrs. Bruce Winters, Paromus, NJ;
Mrs. Loraine Posey, Las Cruses, NM; Mrs. Geraldine Uren, Flint, MI; two
brothers, W. T. Hackney, Dayton, Tenn.; M E. Hackney, Washington, DC. Funeral
services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon from the Soddy Church of
God with Rev. Hubert Adams, Rev. R. B. Moore, and Rev. Blazer conducting. Burial
will be in the Presbyterian cemetery. Pallbearers will be Haskell Johnson, Ray
Ball, Otis Beene, Jack Penney, Frank Higgins, and Virgil Penney. The body will
be at the residence after 10 o'clock this morning, where it will remain until
the hour of service. Arrangements are by National Funeral Home.
