HACKNEY, Thomas Washington, aged 69, passed away at his residence, Route 1, Soddy, Tenn., at noon Sunday, following a lingering illness. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Amanda Hackney: three sons, Arthur of Soddy, Willard of Chattanooga, and Millard Hackney of Arlington, Va.; eight daughters, Mrs. Rosa May Lasley, Mrs. Maggie Jane Bailey, Mrs. Cleatus Smith, Mrs. Loraine Posey, Mrs. Geraldine Uren, and Ms. Beady Hackney, all of Soddy; Mrs. Flora Wright of Chattanooga and Mrs. Alice Winters of River Edge, NJ.; two brothers, Henry and G. S. Hackney, both of Soddy; also 32 grandchildren and 14 great-grand children. The body will be taken to the residence this morning. R. J. Coulter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
