Melvin Paul Helton, 68, of 959 Gateway Avenue, died
Saturday in a local hospital. A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, he was a
retired employee of Red Bank Pharmacy. Survivors include two daughters,
Mrs. William R. (Barbara) Myers, Noble, Ga.; Mrs. Dennis (Rachel Ann) Bigham,
Red Bank; son, Jim Helton, Red Bank; three sisters, Bertha Ingram, Fort
Oglethorpe; Gertrude Ingram, Chattanooga; Edna Sackrider, Defiance, Ohio; six
grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1:30 p.m.
today in the funeral home chapel with Brother Gene Voss and the Rev. Arland
Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Lasater Cemetery, Marion County,
Tenn. Arrangements by the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
