S. Hickey, 68, died Sunday (July 3, 1983) at Queen of the Valley Hospital
following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Hickey was born Feb. 22, 1915, in Turtletown, Tennessee to William H. and
Laura Shearer Hickey and was educated in Tennessee schools, graduating from high
school in Hixson, Tennessee. He married the former Ada M. Wilson, on May
12, 1935, in Lafayette, Georgia. He was employed by the US government as
an electrician at both Mare Island Naval Shipyard and the Alameda Naval Air
Station. The family lived at various times in Vallejo, Napa, and Alameda
before settling in Napa in 1968.
Mr. Hickey was a long time member of the Church of Christ, a participant in the
activities of the Napa Senior Citizens Center and a member of the National
Association of Retired Employees.
Mr. Hickey is survived by his wife, Ada M. of Napa, California; two sons, Deuel
M. of Napa, California and Andrew B. of Harold, California; two brothers, Dr. H.
David and William T., both of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and one sister, Roxie G.
Suit of Miami, Florida. Three grandchildren and one great-grandchild also
survive.
At the request of the deceased, no services were held. Private cremation
arrangements were conducted under the direction of Treadway and Wigger Funeral
Chapel.
