    George was born 3 December 1864 in Sequatchie Co., TN, the son of Marion Hixson and Mary Polly Hunter.  He married Winnie Caroline Cain 3 December 1887 in Sequatchie Co. She was born 29 April 1871 and died 13 Oct 1916. Both are buried in Smith Cemetery in Sequatchie Co.
