Luther Harlen Hixson, 63, of Hixson, passed away of cancer at a local hospital on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004. Luther had lived in Middle Valley all his life and was retired from Bi-Lo /Red Food Stores with over 39 years of service. He attended Community Baptist Church .
   Luther was the son of the late Louise and W. Foster Hixson and was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Hixson.
   He is survived by his brothers, Ralph "Bud" and wife Nancy, John "Billy" and wife Stella, Marvin and wife Joyce, and Charles Hixson; sisters, Wilma H. and husband Thomas Tomisek, and Carolyn H. and husband Herbert Brown, all of Chattanooga ; several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
   Interment will be in Foster Hixson Cemetery .
   The family will receive friends from 6–8 p.m. today and from 1-2:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Foster Hixson Cemetery in care of Wilma Tomisek, 2103 Crown Court Lane , Chattanooga , TN 37421 . Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
