Hixson, Maude Brown, 94, of Atlanta, died there Tuesday.
formerly of Hixson, she was a 25 year resident of Atlanta. She was the
widow of Melvin H. Hixson, Jr., the son of Melvin H. Hixson, Sr. for whom
Hixson, Tenn., was named. She was the mother of the late Matt Hixson and
Dorothy Ingle. Survivors include a daughter, Thelma Henry, Atlanta; son,
Melvin Hixson, Haynesville, LA., nine grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be
at 10 a.m. Thursday in Chattanooga Memorial Park with the Rev. G. Everett
Gossett officiating. The family will receive from 7-9 p.m. today at the
Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
She died June 30, 1992 in Atlanta, funeral and burial was in
Chattanooga. The Chattanooga Times, July 1, 1992.
