Ernest Monds Sr., retired from the City of Chattanooga Pumping
Station, died Thursday Mar. 15,1988 at his residence. He was 62.
The son of Richard and Clara Davenport Monds, he was a member of
Harmony Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Earline Stroud Monds, three sons Ernest
Monds, Harrison, Tenn., Earl and Wayne Monds; three daughters, Mrs.
Mary Frances Bowman, Louise Smith and Mrs. Sue Morgan, all of
Chattanooga; two brothers Jerry W. Monds, Ravenna, Ohio, and Lewis M.
Monds of Melbourne, Fla.; five sisters, Mrs. Frances E. Keith, Sylmar,
Calif., Mrs. Elsie C. Capehart, Lupton, Tenn., Mrs. Martha Arlena
Bradford, Chattanooga, Mrs. Ezell Breedlove, Hixson, Tenn., and Mrs.
Estell Bevenue of San Mateo, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; several nieces
and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harmony Baptist Church
with the Rev. Randy Bell officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park, with Earl Monds, Wayne
Monds, Walter Nichols, Arnold Bowman and William Unger serving as
pallbearers.
