Rites For Richard Monds Set Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

        

        Services for Richard "Spencer" Monds, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and descendant of the early settlers of Hamilton County, will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Chattanooga Guardian Funeral Home, East, with the Rev. Billy Blackstock officiating.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.  

        Mr. Monds died Friday, November 17, 1989,  in a local hospital.  He was 82.

        He was a Baptist, and a retired switchman with Southern Railroad.

        He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Guinn Monds, and two sisters, Mrs. Stella M.  Conner and Mrs. Marie M. Ballard.

        Survivors include four sons, William S. and Robert S. Monds, both of Chattanooga, Ralph B. Monds, Orange Park, Fla., and Richard D. Monds, Hixson; daughter, Miss  Alice B. Monds; sister, Mrs. Mildred Monds Tanner, Chattanooga; half sister, Mrs. Zona Monger, Lenoir City, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
