David Benjamin Moon, 76, of Chattanooga,
died on Wednesday, January 6, 2010.
David was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and served our country
in the Army. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad with over 40 years of
service. David was a member of Bayside Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Nancy Ivens Moon;
sister, Mavis Goodner; two brothers, Paul and Raymond Moon; and a grandson,
Heath Brogan.
David is survived by his wife of 20 years, Elsie Dennard Moon; four
children, Gail Wyckoff, Sharon (Mike) Trussell, Shannon (Almir) Dizdarevic
and Charles (Allison) Hargis Jr.; five grandchildren, Tanner Brogan, Jeremy
Trussell, Rachel (Kevin) Schultz, Caroline Hargis and Ahmed Dizdarevic;
siblings, Wallace (Ruth) Moon, Thurman Moon, Gilbert (Carol) Moon and
Estelle Scoggins; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday and 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
on Monday at the North Chapel.
Services for David will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, at the North
Chapel. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Tommy Dennard,
Tanner Brogan, Jeremy Trussell, Kevin Schultz, Mike Trussell and Gilbert
Moon serving as pallbearers.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory
and Florist.
