Gann, Walter A., 86, of Dayton, Tenn., a retired postal clerk, educator and an active Gann, Walter A., 86, of Dayton, Tenn., a retired postal clerk, educator and an active member of several fraternal organizations for over half a century, died Saturday night at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Dean Stewart Gann; daughter, Stella C. Oldham, both of Dayton; two sisters, Eva Eustice, Daisy, and Mrs. Elmer Lasley, Flint, Mich.; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held today at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. David Jordan and the Rev. Lewis Gann officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park with Daisy Masonic Lodge 706 in charge of graveside services. Pallbearers will be Jim Oldham, Lebarron Pahmeyer, Kenneth Penney, Elmer McWilliams, Elmer and Emmett Devault. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Daisy, Soddy and Red Bank Masonic lodges, Betsy Ross Chapter OES, members of his Sunday school class and the Ladies Sunday School Class of Red Bank United Methodist Church; Leonard Shipley, Hershel Goforth, M.O. Bandy, Johnson Swafford, Junior Travis, Charlie Harris, Ted Swingle, John Cox and Lillard Rice. Arrangements are by Williamson and Sons Funeral Home, Soddy-Daisy.
