ALDER - Funeral services for Dr. George Byron Alder, 65, widely known Chattanooga physician who died Tuesday night, will be held at 3 o’clock this afternoon at Centenary Methodist Church, Dr. J. Fred Johnson and the Rev. J. Spurgeon McCartt officiating. Interment in Forest Hills Cemetery. Active pallbearers, Dr. Tolbert C. Crowell, Dr. J. F. Hobbs, Dr. William G. Stephenson, Dr. W. D. L. Record, Dr. D. Isbill, Dr. C. H. Barnwell, Dr. A. F. Ebert and J. Avery Bryan. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the board of stewards of Centenary Methodist Church and members of the Chattanooga and Hamilton County Medical Society. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mildred Harley Alder; two sons, James Harley Alder, Chattanooga and George B. Alder Jr., Helena, Ark.; sister, Mrs. James Prigmore, Whitwell, Tenn., and one brother, E. B. Alder, Chattanooga. The body is at the funeral home of J. Avery Bryan Company.
