COX, ELMER 68 of Soddy-Daisy died Monday in a local hospital. He was a member of Soddy-Daisy First Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran, a Tennessee state trooper for many years and a barber and farmer in Soddy-Daisy for many years. Survivors include his wife, Annie Layne Cox, daughter, Anna Suee Correll, son Everett Cox, both of Soddy-Daisy, brother Charles Cox, Red Bank, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with Dr. Ed Blanchard officating. Burial will be in National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Soddy-Daisy First Baptist Church. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home, Soddy-Daisy.
