William Rufus Davis

Davis, William Rufus, 77, Soddy, Tenn., died Saturday in a local hospital. Survivors are one son, Charlie Davis, Bessemer, Ala.; three daughters, Mrs. Jack Robbins and Mrs. F.S. Noe, both of Birmingham, Ala.; and Mrs. W.P. Noe, Miami, Fla. Also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon from the Shady Grove Baptisit Church with Rev. Howard Gray officiating. Interment will be in the Wilcox Cemetery. The body will be taken to the R.J. Coulter Funeral Home in Soddy at noon today. Active pallbearers, Lawrence Davis, Paul Painter, Roy Uren, Lonnie Davis, Reece Mills, and John McGill. Honorary pallbearers John McFarland, Tom Alexander, Jr., Paul McGill, H.A. Haile, Tom Hargis, Ethelbert Wright, Tom Maddox, Fred Maddox, Gid(?) Lee, John Smith, C.D. McRee, C.D. Hunt, Dr. Raymond Haley, Haesel(?) Hughes, and Lewis Jones.
