Noah Burdette Roberts

Roberts, PFC. Noah B. 22, Hixson, Tenn. Route 1, who was killed in action near Rome, Italy, June 25, 1944, arrived in Chattanooga late Wednesday afternoon. He was a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School and employed by the Dixie Mercerizing Company in Lupton City before entering service. Survivors are parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Roberts; sister, Mrs. C. F. Albury, Soddy; brother, Reed Roberts, Soddy. Funeral services will be held in the Dallas Baptist Church near Hixson, Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. J. W. Davenport, Rev. A. A. Johnson and Rev. Tom Dodd officiating. Active pallbearers are to be Robert Varner, Warren Varner, Jim Cox, Bill Cox, John Cox, James Hale, Elmer Hale and Sherman Hale. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the 1940 graduation class of the Soddy-Daisy High School and Soddy Post No. 107 of the American Legion. The body will remain at the funeral home until Saturday morning, at which time it will be take to the home of his parents near Hixson. Interment will be in Hensley Cemetery.
