John Thurman

     John Thurman, 88, died at his home south of Ooltewah Monday morning. He was a member of the St. Elmo M. E. church, south, and was a Confederate veteran, being a member of the N. B. Forrest camp, U. C. V.

      He is survived by his widow; two sons, C. H. and R. M., and one daughter, Miss Jennie Thurman. Funeral services will be held from the residence at 2 o'clock this afternoon, with the Rev. Mr. Foster, pastor of the Ooltewah Methodist church, and Elder F. W. Field, of Collegedale, officiating. Interment will be at St. Elmo. Coulter's in charge.
