Howard L. Owen died Thursday, September 21, 2000, at
his home. He was 87. He was a native of Jasper, Tennessee, and lived
in Chattanooga most of his life. He attended Bayside Baptist Church
and was a World War II Army veteran. He was a lifetime member of the
American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign
Wars. Survivors include two sons, James Allen Owen, Franklin, GA., and Jacky
P. Owen, Chattanooga; daughter, Joyce Puckett, Chattanooga; sister Grace
Owen Skates, Chattanooga; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. The
funeral will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Turner Funeral Home, Webb Road, with
the Rev. Glenn officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
