Robert Burgher Pirtle

Robert Burgher Pirtle, who for many years was with the Railway Express Agency, in Chattanooga before his retirement some 15 years ago, died Monday at St. Joseph Hospital in Memphis.  He was 80. He was born in Toone, TN and was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and World War 1.  He was a member of Highland Park Christian Church in Chattanooga. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at National Funeral Home in Memphis. Burial will be in National Cemetery in Memphis. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Margaret Louise Stevens Pirtle; a daughter, Mrs. Eva R Pirtle Dickson of Memphis and St. Petersburg, FL; two sisters, Mrs. Sammons Marsh of Bolivar and Mrs. Joe Martin of Courtland, MS.
