Pirtle, Mrs. Ruth, widow of William T. Pirtle, of 510 Winston Rd.
Hampton Heights, died Sunday morning at the Fountain View
Convalescent Center, Atlanta, GA. A native of Wallis, TX, she was
the daughter of the late Hamilton and Katie Harrison Arnold.
She had been a member of the First Baptist Church since 1908, and
was a member of the Shahan Bible Class. She was a member of the
Frances Walker Chapter of the U.D.C., a member of the Frances
Willard Chapter of W.C.T.U., and former board member of the
Frances Willard Home. Survivors include a son, W. R. Pirtle,
Atlanta; a grandson, W. P. Chaney, Chattanooga, a granddaughter,
Mrs. C. A. Daugherty, Nashville; four great grandchildren; two
nieces, Mrs. R. E. Hill, Chattanooga, and Mrs. C. H. Sewell,
Bolivar, TN. Funeral services will will be conducted Tuesday
afternoon at 2:30 p.m. from the gravesite in Forest Hills Cemetery
with Rev. Jack McEwen officiating. The body is at the Wann Funeral
Home, 4000 Tennessee Ave.
