Rual Rice Poteet

POTEET-- RUAL R., age 73, died early Sunday morning (Oct. 21, 1956) in a local hospital.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Jane Poteet, Lupton City; five daughters, Miss Rosa Poteet, Miss Ethel Poteet and Mrs. D.W. (Gena) Leatherwood, all of Lupton City, Mrs. E.B. (Bessie) Mantooth, Benton, TN; and Mrs. L.C. (Lacie) Leatherwood, Hixson, TN; three sons, Woodrow Poteet, Lupton City; Walter Poteet, Lupton City; and Ebb Poteet, Soddy, TN; and 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Mr. Poteet was a member of the Wetmore Baptist Church.  Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon from the Lupton City Baptist Church with the Revs. H.L. Lewis, Gus Reed, and Luther Brown officiating.  Active pallbearers will be Floyd Ballew, Gene Pittman, James Shirley, Scarbough Moore, Russell Broyles, and Eulas Laney.  Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Wilkey, Boofer Wilkey, Clifford Horne, Ralph Sander, Wayne Sneed, Johnnie Cobble, Grover Ballard, Oliver Scroggins and Curtis Neal.  Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.  The body will be taken to the church to lie in state for one hour before time of service.  The body is at the funeral home.  Arrangements by Cosmopolitan Funeral Home.
