William George
(Bill) Rose - 43 of Soddy, Tenn., died at the residence Tuesday night after a
lingering illness. He was a member of the Oak Street Baptist Church and was
employed by the Soddy Marine Hosiery Mill and managed the Soddy Knothole
baseball team. He was a veteran of World War II. Survivors are his wife, Mrs.
Ora Rose, Soddy; son, Vance Rose, Soddy; daughter, Mrs. Noel Underwood, Soddy;
mother, Mrs. Viola Rose, Soddy; two sisters, Mrs. A. L. Seale(e), Hixson, Tenn.:
Mrs. Ruby Berry, Chattanooga; brother, Glenn Rose, Soddy; two grandchildren,
Sharon Underwood, Soddy; Noel Underwood Jr., Soddy; several aunts and uncles and
nieces and nephews. funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Oak
Street Baptist Church, the Revs. Vester Bennett and Paul Coffelt officiating.
Interment Presbyterian Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ross Stephenson,
Oscar Legg, Ray Irvin, Phillip Davis, Arnold Weeks, Frank Schmidt Jr.; honorary
pallbearers will be members of the Soddy Knothole baseball team and employees of
Soddy Marine Hosiery Mill. The body is at the Williamson Funeral Home in Soddy.
