Scribner, Henry Edward, 81 of Rt. 1, Soddy, Tenn., died at his residence
Thursday afternoon. He was a member of the Union Fork Baptist Church, a
retired coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers, Local 706 of
Soddy. He was a member and past noble of the Grand Morning Star Lodge No. 211.
Survivors are one son, Harold E. Scribner; three grandchildren, Russell E.
Scribner of Soddy; Mrs. Ramona Walker, Chattanooga, and Shirley Gibson of
Hixson; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral
services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Union Fork Baptist Church
conducted by the Rev. Arvin Johnson and the Rev. Roy Eldridge. Interment will
follow in the Union Fork Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Herschel and
Everett Woodward, Willard Gibson, Thomas Lovelady, Jack Jenkins, Roy Morgan.
Honorary pallbearers will be John McGill, Leland Gann, Tom Alexander, Bert
Hogue, George McClure, Ralph Davis, Conner Hagan, Chester Frost, McKinley
Curvin, The Rev. Paul Coffelt. The body will remain at the Williamson-Garrison
Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Williamson-Garrison Funeral Home, Soddy,
Tenn.
