Henry A. Scrudder

Scrudder - Henry A., 76, retired contractor and resident of Chattanooga for
71 years, died yesterday morning at 10:30 o'clock at his home, 2810 Dayton
Boulevard, after several weeks' illness.  Surviving are his wife; son, O. O.
Scrudder; two grandsons, Eugene Owen Scrudder, U.S. Army, stationed at Camp
Shelby, Miss., and Henry Evans Scrudder of Chattanooga; granddaughter, Anna
Louise Scrudder, Chattanooga.  He was a member of the St. Elmo Church of
Christ.  A native of Augusta, Ga., Mr. Scrudder came to Chattanooga at the
age of 5 years.  He was the son of the late Harmon and Katherine Scrudder,
pioneer settlers in Hamilton County.  Funeral services will be held at the
residence Monday Morning at 10:30 o'clock, the Rev. Charles Holiday
officiating.  Interment will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.  Page-Hancock
Funeral Home in charge.  Active pallbearers will be T. J. Holcomb, Thomas
Bowman, F. W. Creasman, Dewey G. Hixson, James Painter and L. J. Eldridge.
Honorary pallbearers will be C. E. Cofer, Dr. R. L. Allen, Robert Marshall,
P.S. Poindexter, Martin L. Hartman and W. E. Peirce.  Friends are requested
to omit flowers.
