SCRUDDER - Owen O. 65 of 117
Nargansette Ave. died Sunday afternoon in a local hospital. He was a
teacher of the Men's Bible Class of the Red Bank Methodist church. Past Master
of the Hixson Lodge No. 727. F &AM. member of Red Bank Lodge No.
717 F&AM. member of the Lookout Commandery No. 14. Alhambra
Shrine Temple. Chattanooga Exchange Club. past president of the
Chattanooga chapter of the National Association of Cost Accountants and was a
partner in the Public Accountant Firm of Hixson & Scrudder. He is
survived by his wife. Mrs. Ruth Webb Scrudder. Chattanooga: two sons. Henry E.
and Eugene O. Scrudder. Chattanooga: one daughter. Mrs. James Scoggins.
Urbana. Ill.: five grandchildren. Delia Marie. Roy Owen. Susan E.
and Henry E. Scrudder Jr., Anna Ruth Scoggins. Funeral services will be
held at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the Red Bank Methodist Church with
Revs. W. Clay Daniels and R. L. Lewis officiating. Interment will be in
Chattanooga Memorial Park with members of the Red Bank Lodge No. 717. F&AM
in charge of service at the grave. Active pallbearers will be Pursey E. Varner.
Dewey G. Hixson, Oliver B. Lee, C. E. Cofer, W. H. Myers, and E. J.
Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Methodist Church and
the Red Bank Lodge No. 717. F&AM. The body will remain at the National
Funeral Home West Chapel until one hour before the service when it will be taken
to the church to lie in state.
