Simpson--Mrs. Bertie Long, 57, wife of J. G. Simpson. 1412 W. 52nd St., St. Elmo, died in a local hospital at 3:15 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Louise S. Wilkerson; son, M. Sgt. Marvin O. Simpson, U.S. Army; mother, Mrs. Mary J. Long, Chattanooga; four sisters, Mrs. D. A. Kirk, Mrs. J. N. Morgan, Chattanooga; Mrs. Edward Stein, Rome, Ga., and Mrs. Walter L. Simpson, Trenton, Ga.; three brothers, Frank Long, Chicago; Clifford Long, Los Angeles, Calif., and J. H. Long, Chattanooga, and five grandchildren. Funeral Thursday afternoon at St. Elmo Church of Christ. Ministers Leslie R. Boyd, Paul Buchanan and Charles Lemons officiating. Internment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery. Pallbearers will be R. D. Cherry, Howard Yates, Edward Thurston, Marlin Lamb, W. A. Lewis, Clinton Shelby, Martin McDonough Sr. and W. T. Nicholls.  The body is at the funeral home of J. Avery Bryan Co.
