GEORGE W. SIVLEY SR., RETIRED PAINTER, DIES

            George W. Sivley Sr., 74, of 4105 Citico Ave. , died in a local hospital early yesterday morning after a short illness.

            A retired painter, he was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga . He was an honorary life member of Painter’s Local 226, and a member of Oakwood Baptist Church .

            He is survived by two sons, George W. Sivley, Jr., of Chattanooga , and Newell S. Sivley of Dallas, Tex.; a brother, Tom Sivley; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Barnhardt and Mrs. John Webb, all of Chattanooga, and five grandchildren.

            Funeral services will be held today at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Livy Cope officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery .

            Pallbearers will be P. L. Baker, Fred Davis, Chester Sivley, Gene Morgan, R. Robertson, and Ben Condra.

            Honorary pallbearers will be members of Painters’ Local 226.
