Roland Glenn Skates of Chattanooga died Friday, December 15, 1995, in a
local nursing home. He was 86.
A member of the Mountain Creek Church of Christ, he was a U.S. Army veteran
and an avid golfer. Survivors include his wife, Grace Owen Skates; his son
Donald Skates, Pelham, Ala; two brothers, Ernest Skates, Chattanooga, and
Marvin Skates, Florida; sister, Aileen Lewis, Arkansas; and two
grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in
Chattanooga National Cemetery, with Minister Jack Stamper and others
officiating.
