Gladys Wheeler Starks




STARKS – GLADYS WHEELER, of 3805 Nandena Drive, died Thursday at her home following an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, she was a 1930 graduate of Howard High School. She was a member of Prospect Baptist Church, serving on the Mother’s Board and the Missionary Society. She was a member of Eastern Star. Survivors include four sons, LaGrand Starks Jr., Chicago, Clyde Starks, Pensacola, Fla., J.B. and Lex Starks, Chattanooga; three daughters, Josephine Starks and Faithe McDaniel, both of Chattanooga, and Doris Suddeath, Nashville; 14 grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Prospect Baptist Church, with the Rev. J. P. Trimble officiating.
