    Mrs. Emma Ann Williams Stevens, wife of James Wharton Stevens, both residents of Memphis, died yesterday afternoon at 2 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Burgher Pirtle (Margaret Louise Stevens Pirtle), 807 Dodds avenue.  Mrs. Stevens had suffered an attack of apoplexy while visiting her daughter.  Brief services were held at the Pirtle home last night by Rev. Holly M. Hale, after which the body was taken to Memphis for interment.

Mrs. Emma A. (Emma Ann Williams Stevens) Stevens, wife of J. W. (James Wharton) Stevens, died at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. B. (Robert Burgher) Pirtle (Margaret Louise Stevens Pirtle), 807 Dodds Avenue.  She is survived by her husband and four daughters, Mrs. Pirtle of this city; Mrs. W. S. (William Sydney) Randolph (Emma Gertrude Stevens Randolph); Mrs. E. J. (Eugene Johnson) Bettis (Jimetta Stevens Bettis); and Mrs. T. G. (Thomas Goodlet) Tucker (Arrabelle Stevens Tucker) of  Memphis.  Short funeral services will be held from the Pirtle home Thursday evening, with  Rev. H. M. Hale officiating.  The body will be taken at midnight to Memphis for burial.
