Miss Tanner Dies; Retired At Chattem
Ida Mae Tanner, an employee of Chattem inc. for 40
years, died Friday morning, March 16, 1990, in a local hospital.
She was a resident of Chattanooga for more than 40
years and was an administrative assistant in Chattem Inc.'s traffic
department. She retired in 1976.
Miss Tanner was a member of St. Elmo Avenue Baptist
Church and its Bethany Sunday School Class. She taught in the children's
department for many years.
Miss Tanner was preceded in death by her parents,
James G. and Carrie Pittman Tanner, a sister, Etta Tanner, and a brother, J.
R. Tanner.
Services will be held Sunday, March 18, at 2 p.m. at
J. Avery Bryan Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald R. Givens officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park with
deacons of St. Elmo Baptist Church serving as pallbearers. Pallbearers
will be members of the Bethany Sunday School Class.
